Account and Data Deletion

This page explains how to request deletion of your AAB Credit account, what happens to your data, and what we are required by law to retain.

1. Request Deletion From The App

The AAB Credit mobile app (AABCREDIT, package ng.aabcredit.app) lets you request account deletion directly:

  1. Open the app and sign in.
  2. Go to Profile & settings from the home screen or the dashboard.
  3. Tap Delete account.
  4. Read what is retained, then confirm with your 4-digit PIN. Your PIN is required so that nobody else can close your account from your phone.

You will receive an in-app notification confirming that we received your request.

2. Request Deletion Without The App

If you cannot access the app, email contact@aabcredit.com from the email address on your account, or message us on WhatsApp at 07076266065. Include the phone number registered to your account. We will verify your identity before acting on the request.

3. Before You Can Delete

You cannot delete your account while you owe us money or while a decision is still outstanding. If you have:

  • an active loan, you must repay it in full first; or
  • a loan application in progress, you must cancel it or wait for a decision.

The app will tell you which of these applies. Contact support if you need help settling an account.

4. What Is Deleted

Once your request is processed, your account is closed to further borrowing and we delete or anonymise the personal data we are not required to keep. This includes:

  • your profile details and saved contact information;
  • uploaded documents and images not attached to a completed loan;
  • marketing preferences and in-app notification history; and
  • saved device and session information, which is signed out immediately.

5. What We Must Keep, And For How Long

We are a lender. Nigerian lending, tax, and anti-money-laundering rules require us to keep certain records even after an account is closed, so we cannot delete everything on request. We retain:

  • loan, repayment, disbursement, and wallet ledger records, and the identity verification (BVN/NIN) results tied to them;
  • credit bureau reporting records, which we are obliged to submit and maintain; and
  • records needed to establish, exercise, or defend a legal claim, or to respond to a regulator, court, or law-enforcement request.

These records are kept only for the period required by applicable Nigerian law, regulator guidance, and legitimate legal obligations. They are held securely, are no longer used to market to you, and are deleted or anonymised when the applicable retention period ends.

6. Timeline

We aim to action verified deletion requests within 30 days. You may cancel a pending request at any time before it is processed, from the same Profile & settings screen in the app, or by contacting support.

7. Questions
